The resort towns of Avsallar and Incekum are about 20km east of Alanya, on the Mediterranean coast between Alanya and Side. Avsallar is one of the real up and coming towns on this coast, boasting two of the best sandy beaches in the area, along with some stunning scenary. The lively town centre is the best equipped of the smaller towns in the region, with plenty of bars and restaurants along with a Turkish baths, a hospital, and all the shops you'd expect. It has been well set out, and there is plenty of money being spent on the area in the way of statues, parks and fountains to make it an attractive town for either holidays, or permanent living. There is also a lively mix in the area, as it is a popular resort for the Netherlands, Russia, Poland, Germany, Scandinavia, and increasingly more English.

Fugla (pronounced Fuller) and Incekum beaches are two of the best beaches on the coast, with blue sea to inspire both holiday makers and residents alike. Unlike many of the beaches on this coast which tend to have rather coarse sand, both these beaches are genuinely soft golden sand. There are many sun lounges available for rental at around £1 a day, and also many watersports on offer such as banana boats, jet skis, parasailing etc.

Another nice characteristic of Avsallar is that it is truely open and alive for the full 12 months of the year, unlike the majority of the smaller resorts on the Aegean and Western Mediterranean coasts of Turkey. It is also within an hour of Antalya airport (still the only airport in South Turkey serviced by direct flights from the UK 12 months of the year). For the occasional trips to a bigger resort, Alanya is about 20 minutes by Dolmus (local buses which run along the main road every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day). And for some historical sight seeing, Side is also on the Dolmus route and about 35 minutes away.

Property in Avsallar

Like many Turkish resorts, the beach coast itself is dominated by 5 star hotels. But one of the pleasures of Avsallar is that unlike other areas, it is still possible to get affordable property within a few minutes of both the beach, and the lively town centre. Near the beach coast there are mainly resale apartments, many with both sea and mountain views. These can currently be bought for as cheaply as €70,000 for a large two bedroom apartment.

As you move inland, there are more villas and new apartments available, in areas surrounded by citrus plantations and banana crops. New apartments here start from €80,000, and villas from €120,000.
